When you think of home, there are likely many feelings associated with the thought. For many of us, home is our refuge, a place to retreat, be ourselves, and let our guard down. It’s meant to be a place of comfort—a place for rest. Home can mean the house we live in, but it can also mean the people we share it with. In essence, home is where we long to experience peace.
In Christ, we have the mysterious treasure of carrying this peace of home with us wherever we go, in whatever we do. It is a peace that surpasses understanding, an invitation to come just as we are. In Christ, the welcome mat to eternal comfort, retreat, and rest is always at the door. In Christ, we are at home with God. Our hearts can rest and sing with full assurance—Home Sweet Home.

Bring a mug that feels like home to you—either a favorite, gently used one you are willing to part with, or one you just couldn’t resist at Target or online—and share the joy by exchanging your mug with someone else! The goal of this optional, fun engagement is to low-key mingle amongst one another and then take something new home to remember the evening.
