The Purpose of Gospel City Academy

The Bible is not merely a true story, it is the true story of the world. The goal of Gospel City Academy is to go book by book through the Bible’s one true story so that we can know it more deeply, live according to it more faithfully, and love its main character (Jesus!) more fervently. If you loved Core Scripture and are hungry for more, Academy is for you! 

Academy Details

Duration: One-year program, divided into two 11-week semesters (Fall/Spring) and a summertime touchpoint
Class Dates: The next Academy program won’t be offered until the Fall of 2026. 
Format: Personal Study: Reading, journaling, memorization // Class Time: Cohort discussions, recitation* and prayer
Primary Textbook: The King in His Beauty (Schreiner) — Available for $38 at the resource center
Secondary Textbooks: What is Biblical Theology (Hamilton) — available for $10 at the resource center; The Glory of Christ (Owen) — available for $9 at the resource center
Recommended Bible: We also highly recommend that you own an ESV Study Bible  (available for purchase separately at resource center)
Materials: Study participants will be provided with a workbook to guide them through the program.
Personal Expectations: Each weeks’ prep work will include: 2-3 verses to memorize, a few chapters of the Bible to read, approximately 25 pages of text book reading, and a few journaling questions.
Class Expectations: Participants should come prepared to actively contribute to and engage in group dialogue each week.
Cost: approximately $60 covers required textbooks (workbook materials and other incidentals are free)
Prerequisites & Application: Due to a limited class size for our initial run, those interested must first apply. This is a very big commitment and we want to ensure that those participating will be able to complete the program. Requirements include: Membership at Gospel City, and completion of Core Scripture and Core Doctrine classes.
